Welcome to Fortin, home of the Fortin Fantasy Auction Tool (FAT).
In addition to the Fantasy Auction Tool, Fortin is a web based social planning tool. To better understand how Fortin works please view this illustration. Each Fortin has a contact manager and an event calendar. The calendar and contact manager makes this a great tool for planning an event. I built this site to give myself a simple way of posting things on the internet I may want access to when I may not be at my mostly used computer. For example I created a Fortin that I only have access to and posted the hyperlinks from my browser's bookmarks. Now I have access to those bookmarks regardless of what computer I use. Using Fortin does require an account which is free and does not require an email address. To get a better understanding of how the site works please register for an account and login.
This site has been and continues to be a work in progress. I started work on the site in 2004 as a way for my friends and I to have our fantasy auction draft and as a good excuse for me to learn PHP and MySQL. I've added a lot more CSS, javascript, AJAX with most of my latest changes.
I'm still working on functionality but currently I have a simple contact manager working. I plan on adding more information to contacts to make it more useful but for now it's a convenient place to store numbers, emails and addresses. Each Fortin has an event calendar that allows for the posting of events. This is the most advantageous feature in my opinion. The site is a great place to put grocery lists on, share upcoming events found on the internet that might interest you, birthdays, significant dates, etc. Like the contact manager I have more functionality I'd like to add to the event manager. I'm working on adding a message center and a document/photo loader as well.
