I've loaded MLB players for 2013.

For 2012 I have expanded the auction tool to other than football.  By request I added English Premier League.  If you're interested in something else please contact me.  2012 was the first year my league didn't use the auction tool.  Since we were able to all get together we just had a live auction with no software.  It was the first time our league did all rounds auction style.  It was a blast.  I would have liked to have used the site but that wasn't my decision.

Past Updates.
The players and owners finally worked out a deal and the season is on.  For my league, the 2011 Hanscom league draft is scheduled for the 13th of August.  The 2011 players have been added as of 8/5/11.  I made a few changes for this year.  I changed the chat feature to display all chat for the entire auction.

I’m starting to get ready for football. It will feel official once the leaves start falling from the trees. Good luck this year.

Welcome back to another exciting year of fantasy football.  I haven't made many updates to the Auction site from last year other than loading the latest players.

My league's draft is scheduled for 8/21/2010.  As in previous drafts our first five rounds will be done auction style.  In order to accommodate my league's auction I have dedicated this site and an untold number of hours building it.

Our league has a rule where last place has team named by 5th place finisher.  LSS - my new team name is Your-A.N.U.S.  An acronym for Annual Napoleonic Underachieving Scallywags.

My league had our 09 fantasy football draft Saturday 8/29.  For 09 we did 5 rounds auction style using this site.  60 players were auctioned off with 646 bids processed.  A majority of owners gathered in DC area while the remaining owners gathered around their beer and computer.   Here are the final results from our 09 auction.

I'm very happy with my auction portion of the draft.  I did leave $9 on the table but I ended up buying Jay Cutler for $14, Ronnie Brown for $18, Ryan Grant for $27, Ochocinco for $6 and finally Larry Johnson for $10.  In hindsight this was a terrible auction.  Grant was best deal.

Why should you consider having an auction style draft?  Well, unlike a standard serpentine style order draft where the draft order is already determined and the best player is going to the owner with the #1 pick an auction draft gives all owners a chance at the #1 player.  My league, Hanscom Fantasy Football League (HFFL) has been doing a hybrid draft for the last several years using the online auction site I built for the auction portion of the draft.  In HFFL the first five rounds are auction style and the remaining rounds are done in a predetermined order.  How does an auction draft work?

The HFFL was established in 1997 and I would argue is the best fantasy league ever.  If you're in a fantasy football league you should consider an auction style draft or a hybrid draft like the HFFL uses.  The auction tool I built will support any league size for as many rounds as you like with any starting balance.  You can customize the players available in case there are players you don't want available for the auction.  The HFFL first started with auction style for the first 3 rounds and because it was the highlight of the draft we expanded it to 5 rounds.  Here are the results from 2008 HFFL auction draft.  I was actually in Niagara Falls during the auction and ended up having a terrible draft (post auction) but this is a new year and I would rather forget about last year.

Auctions are very easy to create.  Once you create an auction just share the name and password of the auction to the other league members so they can join the auction.  There's no charge to use the tool.  If you do use FAT let me hear about it.  Thanks.  EMAIL - Steve Fortin
